Shopping

Today was a full day of shopping with Mom.

Garry and I picked her up at 2:30 and headed
for a early dinner at Cracker Barrel.

First on the list was to pick up my camera.
I was just excited to get it as the day of purchase.
Every thing works good and the repair has a 6 mo. warranty.

Our next stop was Garden Ridge in Pineville.
Mom was in search of a ficus tree for the dinning room to put
lights on and they had the perfect one with a good price.
I found a new cover for the grill and a few other things.

Back to Matthews to the Old Time Pottery in search of candles.
Mom loves it here and she could stay all day. After being in the
store for a while and Garry could not find her, I had her paged.
Here she comes to the front with her buggy full.

Since we eat so early it was time for a snack.

Weeeee, the hot sign was on !!

It was getting late, but Garry wanted to stop at Walmart
My heel spur was killing me, but Mom was still going strong.

Garry wanted a remote that he can program the tv, satellite, dvd
and fireplace together. For me heel pads for my shoes, I was in pain.

By the time we got mom back home it was 10 pm.
We didn't hang around long, since it was potty time for Puddles.

The day was great and Mom really enjoyed herself.

Exciting

This week has been a busy one and today
I got some exciting news!

Wolf Camera called and said my camera
was back from Nikon.

It's been in repair since Dec 20th and I've really
missed it, even called them last week to check on it.

Picking it up tomorrow and going to check it out
real good before leaving the store!

Me Day

Today was my 1/2 day off at work, so I decided

several weeks ago to take the whole day.

This morning I woke at 7 am.

Can't believe I get up so early when off work.

After looking outside and saw this I headed back to bed.

Didn't wake up until 10 am, which is odd for me.

Once dressed and a load in the washer, I headed

to Knife and Fork Restaurant for breakfast.

Eggs, bacon, grits and toast... yummy !

Next on my list was

Needed a few things, but didn't want to fight the Walmart crowd.

Was surprised at the sale prices.

Black pants reg $21 on sale $3.99.

They had my name on them.

Face toner, cotton balls, eye liner pen and cleaning supplies.

Enjoyed just taking my time and looking for bargains.

I even had dinner started when Garry got home.

Pork chops, mashed potatoes, okra, biscuits

Wish every day could be like this one.

But I have a few more years to work.

Mom's Dining Room

Another project finished !!!

On Dec 22nd Romonia (sister) and Morgan (niece)
worked cleaning up Mom's dining room.

Dining Room Dec 22nd (explanation)

Last week Mom had the room painted.
She bought new curtains, since I told her the
other ones were so ugly!

The funny thing was, that I had 5 sets of the same
curtains she bought from when we moved and
I didn't hang them back up.

This evening I headed to Moms
to finished the windows.

Come on in and take a look.

The only thing left she wants is a Ficus Tree in the corner with lights.
So it's shopping time!

She has worked so hard in here polishing furniture I
think she has over done it. Not feeling well today.

Will check on her later tonight.

Clock Table

Garry and I love old clocks.

Since selling the computer cabinet we had
no place to sit one of the clocks.

I wanted a accent table, nothing big and boxee.

Saturday we went to 4 furniture stores looking.
One place marked the price down $50 on one we
liked, but it was not what I really wanted.

After getting tried the last place had my table!

Perfect match to the fireplace.

The rocking chair was Garry's mom.
It had blue cushions so my mom covered them.

Now the room is more open and we love it !

For my birthday last week I received flowers.

It's been a week and they are still as pretty as the 1st day.

The office sent me these and the yellow
rose looks fake its so pretty.

Janice and Rick (best friends) sent me

this lovely arrangement.

Both arrangements came from
The Petal Shoppe of Monroe.
Tim and Darlene Blackburn (owners) do a
great job and the flowers are always fresh.

I highly recommend them !

Saying Thank You

Monday night when we purchased our fireplace
we didn't have a way to get it home.

Since the rv hitch is in the back of the truck
it takes away the space to haul large things.

Kenny our neighbor came with his flat bed truck.

Donnie our other neighbor came to the house to
help unload it.

Now it was 8:30 at night and we were so glad
they were able to help out.

No way would they take pay for helping, so
this morning I made them banana puddings.

One good deed deserves another!
It's wonderful to have good neighbors and to be one.

Fireplace/TV

Monday after work Garry and I went looking
again for a TV stand.

We had not decided if we wanted a fireplace or not.

Finally this one own us over.

It was 8:pm when we got it and our wonderful neighbors

helped bring it home and in the house.

The delivery fee was $70 and that's crazy!

The unit is really heavy so I asked another
customer help get it up on the truck.

Tuesday after work Garry and I set it up.

I'm getting use to the TV being up high

and it really puts out the heat.

Been a good birthday week!

I have had the best birthday !

At work we had cake, pinwheels, chips and nuts.

(my diet was a no today)

Received some really nice presents and Mom

surprised me by coming to my work.

My dear friends (Janice/Rick) sent me

a beautiful flower bouquet.

Garry took me to LongStar for dinner.

Romonia (sister) and Clint (friend) called

and sang happy birthday to me.

And many others texted me.

Crocheting

The weather is great and I have beach fever.

Many years ago I did a lot of crocheting and
stopped to do cross stitching.

This week I have started back and have
already made a pretty scarf.

Christmas, but we will see how that goes.

Today Morgan Ann (niece) is 21.

How time flies !

It's like yesterday she was a little one and afraid
of my coo coo clock (coo coo clock gonna get me).

Garry would have to stop it so she would be ok.

I still remember her little pink corduroy overalls, white
shirt, white shoes and black hair with a little curl.

Here are a few pics I still have in my computer:

Morgan is now a CNA working at a nursing home.

(she is wonderful with old people)

While working, she's also going to school to get her RN.

Light Box

Today Garry and I did some bargain shopping.

We found several things that were 75% off.

Glass light box bricks at Lowes was $2.50, regular $10.

I had lights and greenery.

Can't decide if I have to much greenery in it.

Keeping a watch in it for a while.
Not sure how much heat the lights will make.

Any suggestions on what else I can do with it?

1st 2012 Day

This morning Puddles had a grooming appt.

He was getting so shabby and needed it.
My handsome fellow !

Once home, we headed over to the Waldens (friends) to help
them winterize their new camper.

Then we were entertained with gas and electric toy cars
and trucks, one will go 50 mph. They are building a race
track that will be neat.

It was a fun day and the weather has been great.

Caught the Bug

Monday afternoon I started feeling bad.
Throat was really sore and nose running.

Just great since I had to go back to work Tuesday.

I didn't sleep much at all, was achy and felt so bad.
But to work I went and my day was really bad.
One of our doctors called me in Zithromax Z-Pak.

I needed to go home but stayed and took my 1st 2 pills
at 3pm. By the time to drive home I was having a
hard time, guess it was all the medicine in me at once.
Don't even remember driving down the highway.

Bless Garry's heart he fixed me grill cheese and
tomato soup for dinner, even being sick himself.

Fevered and cold, I hit the bed at 8:30.
I did sleep good until 5am, but then again I took more
meds earlier.

Today was much better, but the sinus are working over time.

Hope your family is doing well and don't get this mess!

Day After

We have had a wonderful Christmas, with family and friends.

Christmas Eve we had Christmas at mom's and the food was great.
(she sat at her signed seat in dining room)
Every one brought covered dishes and presents.

I have been blessed with gift cards, candles, crystal love birds,
jacket, body/bath things, scarf, earrings and much more.

Garry surprised me with a new curling iron and the camera bag
sling that I had been wanting, but was to cheap to buy.

Now waiting for my camera to come back from Nikon.

Ashley from the office gave me these cute bedroom shoes.

We put up our Christmas decorations and I cleaned the den windows.
Did a little shopping this morning and now settled back resting
for a very busy day at work tomorrow.

and did a little shopping.

Dinning Room

Mom has been blessed this year with make overs!

Romonia (baby sister) moved in with mom several
years before my dad passed away.

She had stored her things in the dinning room since it
was only used during family gatherings.

Mom wanted to be able to use it this year for Christmas.

So Romonia and Morgan (niece) have worked really hard
the past 2 days on moving the stuff to Romonia's place.

Tonight was their last load, so I headed over to shampoo
the carpet. The 3 of us worked hard and fast since Mom was
sitting with an elderly lady.

Romonia called mom and told her the room
would not be ready for Christmas.

She is once again going to be surprised with she gets home.

Finished and looking great!

Have not seen this table in 5 years !!

Dad always sat at the head of the table.
Christmas Eve when we have our gathering, I will have
a name card at the head of the table ~ Mom.

Thanks Romonia and Morgan for working so hard to make
her Christmas wish come true!!

Camera

Today at our office party, my Nikon ended up on the floor.

No the party was not a wild one, just a gathering.

After the party I ran home to get my paper work and
drove to Wolf Camera in Pineville.
(worse traffic ever)

It will come on and you can adjust the setting and see
the pictures I had taken. But the shutter will not open
to shoot a picture.

So sad, with Christmas here in 5 days.

The guy was super nice, but had no ideal when it
would be back. I was very understanding to him,
not his fault.

Will have to use my Olympus camera as back up.

Stare Down

Today this big ole guy and I had a stare down.

Garry and I had been seeing him for a while.

With my camera up and ready to shoot my hands were getting cold.
I tried not to move, but my legs wanted to.
He turned his head and I zoomed more.

I had to move, he won.
So we both gave in, turned and walked away together.

Pray no one decides they need to have him for dinner.

Hurry up hunting season and get over!!

Friends

Tonight we picked up our friends,
Janice and Rick and headed to dinner.

After a nice meal at the fish camp it was time to shop.

I was looking for some tiny white lights to leave on the
tree on the patio, but was shocked to see that Lowe's
and Target were sold out of them. Guess lot of people
decorated this year. We also checked out the new Petsmart
and got Mr Puddles some treats.

On the way home, Garry drove us around to see some lights.

These people went all out.

Rick had the house all decorated and every thing is so pretty.

Janice tried to get him to look at me.

Janice made us a wonderful cheese ball and gave us a bag
of peanuts that Rick told Garry how to cook.

Day Off

I had taken the day off work to do some shopping.

There were a few things I wanted to do before hitting the mall.

At 7am I was watering my panies and blowing leaves off the patio.

My next big project, cleaning windows.
Since they are tilt in I didn't need a ladder.

By 11 am the blinds and windows were cleaned.
Since it was 72 outside, I hung the washed curtains on
the clothes line to dry.

After a little lunch at Arby's I headed to the mall.

Once back home, I hit the ironing board and hung
the curtains back up.

Finally finished and the windows look great!

The Gift of Warmth

Last year our office gave blankets to the homeless shelter.

This year we decided to expand it to not only blankets
but also gloves and boggins.

Lots of blankets, boxes of gloves and boggins.

I enjoy buying Christmas presents, but I hate wrapping them.

Presents on the spare bed and in top of my closet.
Today was the day I had to do it !

I had not made a list of my purchases and some things
I had forgotten about.

Everything was sorted out, I made a list and
the wrapping began.

Finally finished 2 1/2 hours later and Garry
placed them under the tree.

Next project will be Christmas cards.

Garry and I decorate a little outside.

This deer is made from metal and stands 5 feet tall.
We have had him for many years. I have so many lights on his he glows.

I bought a new lighted wreath, of course I had to add 100 more lights.

We even decorated the tree on our patio.

Week End Recap

It's been such a busy week end for us.

We picked mom up Friday night at 6 for our outing.
Got home at 10:30 and I sat down to relax.

After talking to Romonia (sister) at the hospital.
I learned that Erika (niece) was in alot of pain.
No way was I going to miss this delivery.

So at 1am I headed to the hospital.

Jayce was born at 11:53 am Saturday morning.

I headed home at 1pm and was getting to tried with no sleep
since Thursday night having trouble holding eyes open.

After a 2 hour nap, Garry and I headed out for dinner
and to my work to finish payroll.

If all this was not enough, we started putting up our
tree and decorations at 6pm. My butt was really dragging!

Finally at 10:30 I hit the bed.
Thank goodness Garry had done all the house work while
I was on baby watch.

After lunch today, Garry and I went to the hospital to see
the little fellow again.

Shopped a little and headed back home to finished
with the decorations.

Our week end has been a blessed one.
Now it's time to get ready for the holidays !!

Jayce Brently 12-3-2011

Friday night was a long and hard night, but Erika (niece)
did great by hanging in there.

This morning at 11:53 Jayce Brently was born.

He was 7 lbs , 7 oz and 21 in long.

Erika (mommy) Dylan (daddy)

Grandma Romonia (sister) and Jayce meeting each other.

He didn't cry at all while we were passing him around.

Mom and Baby are doing great. He will stay in the nursery tonight
while Erika gets some much needed sleep.

Baby Coming

Erika (niece) went to the hospital this afternoon to have her baby.

She was scheduled to be induced yesterday, but they called 2 hours prior and canceled it.

Romonia (sister) called them back and let them have a piece of her mine. This had been scheduled for a week and she had been in a lot of pain with her back. The hospital finally admitted the reason was short staffed, someone really screwed up.

He was due a week ago, so she being given meds now to see if things can get moving.
I pray all will be okay and it will go fast for her.

I'm about 40 mins from the hospital, so they better call me with enough drive time.

I'm ready to meet this little guy, Jayce Brentley.

Campground

This past week end we camped at Willow Tree RV Campground.

It's a lovely place and with a 36 acre lake.

Yesterday I posted a picture of swans.

Patty from My Mountain Blessings asked if they were near my home.

The swans were from the campground lake and they were beautiful.

Thanksgiving Camping

We have been camping for 5 days and I must say,
we had a great time.

Chris and Sherry Walden, their daughter Ally and her
friend joined us this year.

Lucky for us, our camp sites were across from each other.

Played the corn hole game, which Garry was great at.

We shopped a little and Chris and Hunter bought remote helicopters.
Hunter did fine with his, but Chris's went out of control.

Chris: "look how high mine is" "omg, I can't control it"

Chris: "run Hunter, run" "get the golf cart"

They both were running to see where it was going.
We were laughing so hard but got on the cart and took off.

Could not see where or if it had landed.
The last time we saw it was a dot in the sky.

At dinner it was still funny with Chris doing a reenactment.

This was their 2nd camping trip on their new rig.

The Gang

The fun had to come to an end, sad to see them leaving.

But we will make plans for our next trip.

Mom's Happy

When Romonia (sister) and I sneaked to mom's and worked
the spare bedroom we never knew how much she would like it.

Furniture moved around, cleaned carpet, new ceiling fan, blinds,
curtains, wall hanger and a MaryJane's Chenille Bedspread.
I can say now for sure, it's finished !

(I should have put the iron to it)

Mom loves it, even has it decorated from Christmas.

It may be Nov 14th, but I still have flowers blooming.

This spring Garry planted a Encore Azalea.
The tag said it bloomed spring, summer, and fall.
Leaves are falling and the azalea is dancing with blooms.

Roses are blooming and we have had several heavy frost.

My little Pansies are smiling.

This funny looking mum comes up every year.

Mom gave me one of her hen's this summer and now the babies are growing.

Teeth / Grooming

Puddles is all ready for the beach on Thanksgiving.

He don't chew his bones as much as he should.
So I decided today we would start brushing his teeth.

Putting him in the sink worked our very well.
I was surprised how well he did.
But them again, he's use to me messing with him.

Hope he will get better and just open his mouth.
Ya, right !!

Love me Some Saturday's!

Today started out really different.

I got up to a flat tire.
Garry pumped it up and we headed to the dealership.
One plug and all fixed. Can't remember when I had a flat.

We stopped at Lowes and bought me a new leaf blower.
Mine makes nosies and it may die soon. Once home I
put the blower to work, trying to stay ahead of the leaves!

Tonight was a mom night so we picked her up at 4:30
and headed to Cracker Barrel. Then of course we had
to do some shopping.

I bought another Christmas present, have 12 now.
It will be here before we know it so i'm gettin ready.

While at moms I decorated a little tree for the spare
bedroom. It look better every day and bless her heart
she is so proud to have it fixed up.

Tomorrow is another busy day, Puddles has a grooming
appt and it's an hour away. So that will be 3 hours out of our day.

Weather / Time

I just love this time of the year.
Cool nights ~ warm days and the trees are
showing their colors.

The time change is a different story.
Why don't they change it 30 mins and leave it alone!
But getting dark earlier does bring us in the house to rest.

Dry Hair

For several years my hair has been so dry.
I have heard this comes with age, as many other things do.

Back in the summer I decided to try some nice hair products.
After spending $$ for several none over the counter products,
I could not see any good results.

Last month while at Walmart I saw this new shampoo by Dove.
I bought it and I love this stuff. My hair is not 1/2 as dry.

This morning I didn't even have to use the curling iron.
One of the girls at work said it looked good.

So lesson learned, the more $$ it cost does not mean it's the best!

Give it a try, Damage Therapy Revival Shampoo.

Also use the conditioner and it does not weight down my hair.

This sounds like a commercial and no I'm not getting paid.

Can't Believe It !

For the past year I have noticed that I
just don't really slow down.

Is it OCD (Obsessive-compulsive disorder) ?
Maybe I just want things in order and clean.

I know when Mom was in the hospital I was
always putting things in order in her room.

Anyway, today I was on the computer and my
eyes got heavy, so I went to bed.

Yes, I took a 2 hour NAP today.

Never take naps, don't want to miss out on my
free time during the week ends.

Once awake I did jump up and start the grill.

Bet I will never go to sleep tonight but then
again maybe my body is just tired.

Mom / Dinner / Shopping

This afternoon we picked Mom up and headed to Olive Garden.

We had several things on our list to do, so having dinner
at 4pm gave us plenty of time.

At Lowes Mom and Garry picked out some new handles for the bedroom
dresser (one was missing). Mom also had a old lamp of her mothers that
would not work. We picked up the a kit at Lowes and Garry rewired it.

Of course we had to check out the Christmas stuff.
Asked Mom if she wanted this flamingo, since she knows I don't like them.
I once put them in her front yard as a joke and no, she didn't want it.

They even have Christmas frogs.

This dancing Santa was a hit, they look so cute together!

After our purchases we headed home and went to work.
Garry completed the dresser and lamp.

Today Romonia finished the curtains and now I can say,
the room is FINISHED! It looks great!

Our next project is Mom's dining room,
but we're going to rest a little before starting it.

Pansies

I finally purchased my winter flowers.
Yellow and purple pansies, 60 total.

Last year I only planted yellow,
so thought I would mix them up this year.

Planted yellow around the outside with purple in the middle.

I hope they do well and should be pretty.

Good News and Busy!

Yesterday was so busy for me.

I worked until 1pm and then headed to Charlotte Rad
to have a diagnostic mammogram.

After 9 views, ultrasound by the nurse and then another
by the Doctor I was given the all looks good results.

I walked out of there as one proud and thankful chick!

My tag is up for renewal, so I had to have the car inspected before
this could be done. It's such a waste, $30 for nothing.

Now $38 for my tag, unless I go back to a regular one ($28).

Once Garry got home, we headed to dinner and Lowes.
Garry purchased blinds for Mom's makeover room.

It didn't take him long to install them. But the fan was a
different story, after putting it up and then taking
1/2 of it back down, we were finished.

The closet door was sticking, so Garry fixed that also.

(Romonia, the curtains are waiting on you) hehehehe

After getting home at 10pm, it was bath time and
my day was finished.

Sneaky Sisters ~ Update

Mom was so shocked with her spare bedroom make over.

She didn't get home until late and said she wondered why
the vacuum had been moved.

Then she noticed the bedroom door was closed.
During that time, Romonia was talking to her on the phone.

She was so happy we had done it and continues to brag about it.

A new ceiling fan was purchased 2 weeks ago and will get
new blinds this week. Garry will install them next week end.

Romonia will do the windows (lace wrap) and it will be finished.
"We hope!"

Sneaky Sisters !

Tonight Mom had to cancel our Friday night dinner.
She was sitting with an older lady so her daughter
could go out with her husband.

Romonia (baby sister) and her 2 girls lived with mom for
many years. The girls had moved their bedroom around and
mom wanted the bed moved back in it's place since no
one was staying there now.

Mom also wanted me to clean the carpet, but I wouldn't
do it until the room was fixed back.

Well ..... tonight Romonia was at my house at 5:30 and
we headed over to do a room make over.

Morgan (niece) and her boyfriend came by with another
guy friend. On my, just what we needed, 2 strong guys!

We went to work and moved around the entire room.
What a blessing it was to have them show up!

They really came by for a piece of coconut cake mom had
made and they got it once the heavy pieces were moved.

After a little break, Romonia and I continued.
She polished the furniture while I cleaned the carpet.

Mom loves white doilies, so Romonia placed several around
on the night stands and one hanging on the flat headboard.

We busted our butts to get finished.

Cleaned our mess up and closed the bedroom door.

Romonia put a note on the door.

"Carpet wet, love you...Romonia and Cheryl"

She is going to be really shocked when she opens the door.

Thank goodness that's done, now waiting to hear from her.

Puddles Update

Our little fellow is acting better tonight.
He did eat some of his food and able to take meds.

Garry said he's not back to par, but is atleast
following us around the house.

We don't know if it was the steps in the camper
(3 going up stairs to the bathroom/bedroom) that
maybe hurt his back.

Just don't really know what happen
and why he feels bad.

Maybe each day will be a better one.

Puddles Sick

Since getting home from vacation, Puddles would not eat.
When we leave a room he always follows us, but not now.

Last night he would not eat human food and that is
a never. He always wants the 1st bite.

Every night he gets a Glucosamine pill for his joints, due
to both knee surgeries. But the past 2 days
he would not take it, so that was another problem.

Garry took him to the vet today and Dr Lucky checked
him out very well. No tooth problem, no ear infection,
nothing showed up. The only thing was when Dr Lucky
ran him fingers down Puddles spine he would clinch
every time at a certain area.

He's on pain meds for a week and no playing or jumping.

We hope it's from him climbing the steps in the camper
and every thing calms down. But if it don't we will take
him to his orthopedic Dr in Charlotte for a check.

This little guy is our baby and we love him very much !
We will do what we have to for him to have a good life.

Just look at that face with his styling Doggles glasses.

He did eat his food tonight with meds crushed up in it.
Now he's knocked out and sleeping.

Praying tomorrow will be better for him.

Shopping and Doctor

Today was my 1/2 day off work.

Erika (niece) met me at the mall to get crib bedding set.
She had not found any thing she really liked, so I had told
her to go early to the mall and check out Belk and Sears.

Lucky, she found a set she and Dylan liked at Sears.

(2 lightweight quilts, bumper pads, crib sheet and dust ruffle)

The other quilt will be used as a wall hanger over crib.
Darn, we forgot to get a stuffed monkey!

Guess we'll have to call him "Monkey Butt".

I think she's ready now for Jayce to arrive.

I had an appt at 3:15 with Dr Boatright (orthopedic spec) to
get an injection in my pinkie finger. I have trigger finger in it
and it's very painful when it start locking when bending it.

I have had this problem with several other fingers and had to
have surgery on them. Dr Boatright will allow me to have 3
injections prior to having surgery, so today was my 2nd injection.
Praying it will last a while!

Vacation - Pigeon Forge, Tn.

We made it home safe from vacation and had a great time.

The leaves were so pretty and the mountain streams peaceful.

We camped at Pine Mtn RV Resort in Pigeon Forge, Tn
Our site was really nice and the resort was packed
except for a few days during the week.

My 2 guys relaxing.

On our day trip in the mountains, we came up on this old mill.

These old buildings are priceless.

This cross sits high looking over Pigeon Forge.
I don't think it's on top of any thing due to it's size.

I don't have a problem with tunnels.
But I do worry about the height of them with the RV.
Looks like we're not going to fit inside.

But we did and it went on forever!

Atleast both lanes are east bound and we didn't have to meet a big truck.

My next trip will be in a few weeks with Mom and Shirley (mom's sister).
I had told Mom when she got over this last knee surgery I would
take them to the mountains for a week end.
They are looking forward to it, so I hope it's not to cold.

Back Roads / Old Mill

I love to ride the back roads in the mountains.
So that's what we did this morning.

I swear, some of the homes are right next to the road.
I would be afraid of a car coming in my bedroom.
Also notice that many of them have junkie yards.
Stuff every where, that would worry me to death.

Garry asked if I knew where we were.
Sure I did, I'm a great map reader.

We ended up at the Old Mill Restaurant.
I wanted to eat there last night but we could not get a parking place.
Today Garry just circled the parking lot and we got lucky!
It was only 1:00 and our wait was 20 mins.
The food was yummy and when we left people were still lined up.
It's a popular place!

One more day and we will be leaving ...sniff...sniff

Dinner / Shopping

Today we stayed around the rv most of the day.
Puddles and I took a nice walk around the campground.
Lets say, I walked and he sniffed!

We headed out to dinner at Mama's Farmhouse.
Wonderful country cooking, family style.

Afterwards a little shopping at the mall.

I love handbags, so I always in up in that department.

My new Nine West purse, Colorado Satchel

Really do like it.

We were going to sit by the fire tonight, but it was to late.

Have to start that earlier tomorrow night.

During our drive in Cades Cove, Garry spotted this fellow.

I was shocked the pic turned out so good.
Got to love a good zoom lens !

At Clingmans Dome ... wind makes for bad hair day.

We had a great time today in the mountains, riding from 11am to 5 pm.
Our butts were tried, but after a good dinner at
Lonestar we were over it.

Tomorrow is a shopping day.
Hope to get a few Christmas presents.

Pigeon Forge, Tn

We made it to Pigeon Forge yesterday.

The traffic was not bad until we got off I40 and headed to
Sevierville, Tn. It was roll and stop for 10 miles, 2 hrs to get
to the campground. Should have been 30 mins.

Most of the people left today, but it's still very busy.

Tonight Garry and I went to the Lumberjack Feud Dinner Show.
It was really good and the food was great.
It's only been open for a month.

Afterwards we headed back to the park and took
Puddles out for a evening walk.
He can't walk for sniffing every thing.

Tomorrow we will be site seeing up in them there mountains.

Mom's Check Up

Today Mom had her post surgery check up with
Andrew (Dr Masonis's PA).

Mom walked in with no cane and he was so happy for her.
He said most people are still using a walker or cane
and on pain meds, which she is not.

I'm so proud of my Mom, she is a trooper!

Andrew and Mom, all smiles.

She has one more recheck in 3 months with xrays and then will be released.

Mom, Shirley and I are going to the mountains in November to
celebrate the great success of new knees.
Shop with no knee pain will be wonderful.

Friends

Tonight we met our friends, Janice and Rick for dinner.

Have not seen them since before Labor Day,
with camping and then Mom's surgery.

Rick was his same ole self.
He's always picking and I love dishing it back to him.

Poor Janice don't have a chance with him.

With being on vacation and Rick having a treatment,
we will not be seeing them again for more 3 weeks.

Enjoyed having dinner with you guys tonight.

Grooming Time

We will be going on vacation soon and there
is always alot to do to get ready.

Today Puddles had a grooming appt.

He's always so good for Aubrey.
At $50 he dang well better be, but she is easy with
his back legs and does a great job.

Garry and I visit Target (across street) for a while waiting
on him since our drive there is 45 mins. We pay extra for
the express treatment (finished in an hour).

Once home he sleeps the entire afternoon, really pooped.

Old Friends

This afternoon some old friends that we use to race with
and have know for years came to visit.
(Sherrill - Barbara - Sherry - Chris).

Sherry and Chris have a new camper, so they came early to
discuss our storm door and winterizing the camper.

Later Sherrill and Barbara arrived and we headed out to dinner.

It was so much fun talking about the old times.
We laughed so much, I hope we didn't disturb others eating.

Afterwards we had a great visit at our home and Puddles enjoyed
playing around with Chris.

We will be camping with them Thanksgiving and talked about
our plans, which we're all excited about.

Sure was nice to see them and talk about old memories.

Saying Thank You

Mom's sister Shirley, has been such a big help with her knee surgeries.

Both times she has stayed during the week, so we girls
could continue to work.

In March with the left knee, we had decided to pay her to stay
and not a complete stranger. In our hearts we feel she was a big
help to such great results.

Shirley has waited on Mom for every thing.
If Mom would get up to walk, Shirley was right there.
During the nights Shirley would be up and down with Mom.

Since she lives in Hamlet, NC, it's also been nice for them
to have these times together.

I sure hate to see her go and Mom will to.

Tonight Garry and I decided we would take them out for
a thank you and love you dinner.

I called them 30 mins before heading their way and
they were willing and ready.

We have been blessed and can never say thank you enough!

Mom Update

Mom is doing so good.

Her dryer broke, so Garry and I headed that way after work.

On our way we stopped at Gino's (little restaurant) for dinner.
When finished we ordered mom and Shirley's dinner.
They wanted a surprise and was surprised.

Chicken n dumplings, lima and green beans, mac/cheese,
candied yams and rolls. The boxes were packed, so they will
be eating it for a while.

Thomas (grand-daughter's boyfriend) had already been
over and fixed the dryer, so sweet of him.

We had a very nice visit and talked about mom driving.
Tomorrow she will see how she does with Shirley, since
the right knee was the surgery one.

This is Shirley's last week staying, unless we need her.
She will never know how much we appreciate her staying and
both have enjoyed their time together.

Friday night Garry and I will be picking mom up and getting
back in our routine of going out to dinner and shopping.
She already has a list of things she needs from Lowes.

I thank God for allowing Mom to over come the problems she
had after surgery. Just not ready to give her up... love my Mom!

Mom Update

Mom's 2nd knee replacement has been hard on her.

While in the hospital, low blood pressure and atrial fib with
gave her 2 transfers to ICU. Never had atrial fib before.

Once home inner ear (vertigo) hit her with dizziness, vomiting
and she has gotten weaker this week. The medicine for dizziness
was not working and a good bit of knee pain while trying to sleep.

Since things were getting worse, I took her to the
doctor yesterday. An EKG and blood work was done.

The EKG, blood pressure, heart rate and labs were good.
(thank you, Lord)

It was decided to not take the pain medicine and antivert at the same time.
Today was much better for her, not dizzy and they have been putting the
ice machine on at bedtime so that's helping with the pain.

I will stay with mom Friday night and Saturday, while Romonia
(sister) stays Saturday night and Sunday until Shirley (mom's sister)
is back. We're doing this so she can go home for the week ends and
have a break. She will be staying as long as need be. The 1st knee surgery
we only needed her for 2 weeks, so I'm glad she can continue to come.

Saturday I'm going to do her hair, wonder how it's going to look...
Atleast it will feel better!

Miracle on Hudson

Sunday Garry and I visited the Charlotte Airport.

We were in search of the Carolinas Aviation Museum.

Since knowing the Miracle of the Hudson plane had
come home I had been wanting to see it.

When heading home, I drove around to the back side
of the airport and backed into a gated area for some pics.

The planes were right over our heads landing and the aftermath
sounds were really scary. The plane would be out of site, then
electricity noises would sound with strange wind noise.

Mom Sleep Over

Yesterday after work I headed to Mom's for the night.

Shirley (aunt) goes home for the week end,
so Romonia (sister) and I are staying with Mom.

I thought this would be the perfect time to clean carpets.
So while mom was on the leg machine, I started cleaning
her bedroom. Garry came by to visit for a little while
and did a few things around the house.

After a nice rest, I started back and cleaned the den while
mom sat with the ice machine on.

Finally finished at 10:30 when she was ready for bed and
I was pooped. I think we both slept good. I could hear her
snoring and she said the same about me.

Romonia arrived at 3:00 for the night and will stay
until Shirley arrives tomorrow afternoon.

Mom is doing great getting up and down. Still has some
knee pain, but she continues to push on. The past 2 days
she had been dealing with dizziness, but it's better today.

In the Movies

Our town has been busy this week.

The movie Homeland is being filmed.

Last night after dinner, I decided to get a closer look.

Trucks loaded with stuff.

I never saw this sign until I downloaded the pics.

The stars were set up in a alley.
One of the guys told me to go on back, but I didn't.

This lady walked right by me and just looked.
Could tell she thought she was all that ...not!

When I had walked back to the car.
A couple ladies had gotten in a van and drove over to us.

They were in search of some chicken n dumplings.

I directed them to Jud's restaurant for some home cooking..
Informed them it was greasy and they laughed. Just what they wanted.

Wish I had taken my D3100 Nikon.
Pictures would have been much better.

Home Sweet Home

Mom came home from the hospital today!!

We were so excited things were looking up.

Her heart and blood pressure are good and she don't have
that much pain in the knee unless working out.

Shirley (mom's sister) arrived this afternoon to stay.
Mom will get the care she needs and work out on the machines.

It gives me peace of mind knowing Shirley is there, truly
trust her to make good decisions. She will also call us if need be.

Mom Update

Mom was moved in a regular room last night at 6pm.

Then around 1am her heart rate/rhythm messed up and they moved us
back to ICU at 2am.

Laying in the bed resting her rate was 117 - 135.

Around 9 this morning it dropped to 59 and is staying low.

Maybe be moved back to regular room tomorrow.

We're just taking it day by day.

Will not be posting updates for a while.
Trying to rest and sleep when I'm not sitting
with her.

Mom's set back

Mom's knee surgery went well, but she was in recovery 5 hrs.

Her blood pressure was to low to be moved into a room,
79/59 then 57/? and the alarm was flashing.

She was moved to ICU and started on rx drip to see if that would work.
It's starting to go back up and then drop.

Last night her heart rate and oxygen level dropped and
this morning she was in a lot of pain from the knee, so was she
given additional pain medicine.

After this afternoon the pain was able gone and she was
looking so much better. Even said she felt a lot better.
The blood pressure is still low, but not like it was.
The heart rate and oxygen leverl is up and doing much better.

Tomorrow she may be moved to the orthopedic floor.
Then the therapy will begin and hopefully she can go home Sunday.

Like I told her, at least we don't have another knee to have fixed.

Mom - Knee Surgery - 9-7-11

Mom's 2nd knee replacement surgery is in the morning at 9am.

We have to be at the hospital at 6am,
so I have to leave my house at 4:30am to pick her up.

Gonna be a long day, but a day worth it!

This knee is worse than the other (bones shifted) and it's
really giving her pain, so she is ready to have it replaced.

Shirley (mom's sister) will be coming back to stay during
the week, so my sisters and I can work.

She is a sweetheart and we are so blessed to have her help.

post surgery knee check up in March.

Great Time

We have had a great time at the beach and
the weather has been wonderful.
I love walking on the water edge!

But it's time to head back home in the morning.

The beach has been packed and I bet most of them will be
leaving tomorrow also. Good thing Garry knows the back roads!

I work Tuesday and then Mom's knee surgery on Wednesday.
Going to be a busy week.

Erika's Birthday

Tonight Garry and I met mom and Romonia (sister) at
Olive Garden to celebrate Erika's (niece) birthday.

She is really growing up, which makes me feel old.

She is expecting a baby boy at Thanksgiving and is really blooming.

Jayce Brentley is the name she has picked out,
but it could change once he's born.

Mom - Knee Surgery

Mom had knee replacement surgery in March.
We have been so thankful how well she has done.

Now it's time to do the other knee.
This knee also has no cartilage and the bones
are no longer lined up.

She was scheduled for Sept 14th, but her Dr's nurse
called me yesterday wanting to change it.

Now her big day will be Sept 7th!

She is so ready and is very positive that all will be
as good as the last time.

Please remember my mom next week in your prayers.

Been Busy!

Wednesday night we celebrated Mr C's (dear friend) birthday.

Had a great time but he didn't offer me a bite of his dessert!
Garry didn't want his picture taken and was acting up.

Thursday after work, I decided to clean the carpets and
cleaned house. Lucky for me we only have it in the bedrooms.
Garry did all the yard work, so our Saturday will be free!

Friday night after dinner with Mom, we stopped by to visit
with Aunt Pauline. She came home from the hospital Thursday
and is doing much better. The pathology report is back from the
lung surgery and it's lung fungus. This is as serious as lung cancer.
We pray it will not return, but they will keep a very close eye on it.

Uncle Robert gave Garry a big bag of Okra while we were visiting.
This morning I cooked and froze it, will be good this winter.

Even with hurricane winds, the farmers were working at full speed.
Should be a good crop as thick as it was.

Were heading out to pick up Janice and Rick (friends) for dinner tonight.
Then some shopping. We will not see them for several weeks.
Garry and I are going to the beach next week end and then they will
be going. Mom's second knee surgery will be on Sept 14th, so no
plans made ahead for me.

Pedicure / Manicure

Today was my afternoon off work.
I decided on the way home that it was time for a pedicure.

So I set up every thing outside:
Cell phone
House phone
Mt Dew
Towel
Bucket / warm water
Joy detergent
Epsom Salt
Cuticle remover clippers
Nail Clippers
Metal fingernail file (scrape feet)

Both feet in the bucket, now this is a redneck pedicure.
One thing about it, you can't get nail fungus from
someone this way.
An hour later, nice smooth feet!

Since I had every thing set up, I decided to do my hands.
Made a clean mixture and just relaxed.

Before going to bed, I will
rub my feet and hands with
Gold Bond Healing Foot Cream.

Love this stuff !

Now it's time for some polish.

Aunt Pauline ~ Great News!

My Aunt Pauline had her surgery Friday.

The Doctor said she did great and after seeing the spot
in her lung he doesn't think was it cancer!

But just to be on the safe side he sent it off to pathology.

If all goes well, she will be moved from ICU to a room today.
Them maybe go home Tuesday.

We are so happy with this news, prayers do work!

Kmart

My mom is a bargain shopper and she knows her prices.

Last night she was showing us some of the deals
she had gotten at Kmart.

So Garry and I dropped in today
and picked up some nice deals.

I wear sleeveless tops at home and when camping.
Found these on sale.
Regular $10, on sale earlier for $5 and now $2.50.

Garry said get one of each at that price.
I'm ready for some camping and next summer!

Another deal was Krylon Rust Tough spray paint.
At Walmart it's $3.29 a can, on sale at Kmart $1.99.
Garry got several cans, always needing paint!

Also got a new window topper and matching towel for
the bathroom. Topper regular $12, on sale $6.99 and
the towel regular $7, on sale $3.50.

If you have a Kmart in your area, check them out.

It's Just Tuesday?

When I got home from work yesterday Garry
was up on the ladder (he gets home before me).

We had washed the RV last week, but could not get the Florida
baked on bugs off. He decided to use the new buffer and see if
they would wax off and they did.

The only problem now you could tell the entire rig needed waxing.
Oh my, we just did it last October ... been that long?

So what more to do than jump right in and start.
We worked until 8pm and both of we were tried and hungry,
banana sandwiches for dinner.

After work today we went right back to it.

Garry was soaked from sweat. Water was dripping off my hair,
running in my eyes and down my back.

Tomorrow after work we will finish, one side left.
Whoop....Whoop !!

Aunt Pauline

Several weeks ago my aunt Pauline was taken
to the ER with chest pains.

Pauline and Robert (mom's brother)

Every thing checked out ok with her heart.
But during one of the test a spot showed
up on one of her lungs.

Additional test was performed and the results,
lung cancer (size of a 50 cent piece).

We were surprised since Pauline does not smoke.

This friday at 11:00 surgery will be done at Mercy hosp
in Charlotte and she will be there for 6 days.

The surgeon said he will break the rib cage and go straight in.

Please remember her in your prayers.

My Saturday

Busy Saturday!

House cleaned and laundry done.

Puddles bath time and he's always so good.

RV washed and beach reservations made.
Now waiting on Labor Day.

Steak dinner at Logan's Roadhouse .. yummy

After dinner we ran to my work so I could approve time cards.
This way I don't have to deal with them on Monday morning.

Then to Walmart for a few grocery and of course other stuff.

This fall it will be time to wax the RV again.
Since it's such a big job, Garry got a new buffer to help out.

My mouse was worn out after many years of use.
Sometimes the right click button would not work.
I finally gave in and replaced it.

This one is larger than my microsoft one and I love the color.

As we were leaving Walmart the rains started.
That was fine with us, since our day was finished.

Now it's TV and computer time !

Eyelashes, no not mine,
but the ones on The Green Goddess.

I have been following Michelle's blog at
Doublewide Dreamer for a long time.

A few months ago she got a new car (Kia).

I laughed so hard when I saw her post about eyelashes.

Car eyelashes, never heard of them. They are so cute !

By reading her blog, I can tell she is a fun lady and also a school teacher.

Storm and Little Bird

Last night we had a big storm.
The winds were bad and our water oak trees were really
dancing. Garry turned on the scanner and trees were down
blocking some roads and a home hit by lighting.

A big limb broke off one of the pecan trees and patio chairs
were turned over. We were lucky to have no other damage.

I was walking Puddles and came up on this little friend.

Tried to give a little water, since I didn't know how
long he had been laying there.

Garry tried to give him a earthworm.

Not sure if he's gonna make it.
Later a momma bird was out near a tree where Garry
had put him. Hope she takes care of him.

Birthday Boy

Last thursday was Rick's (friend) birthday.

Tonight we celebrated it by going to Olive Garden.
It's one of his favorite places to eat and I agree it was so good !

Happy Birthday Rick !!

Evening Surprise

Tonight was Mom night, as most of you know.

We always bring home our dinner left overs and she gives
it's to her dog (german shepard that belonged to Dad).

It was just about dark and Garry and I was carrying
her Walmart purchases in the house.

She yelled out to Garry to get the hoe and she was
standing near the dog, which it near the patio out back.

Snake...Snake !!!

Garry hurried to her but since it was getting dark he could
not see it. Finally mom pointed it out and our hero killed it.

I thank God that she saw it, before he was able to bite her.

My phone camera has a flash, so it looks day light
but I had a hard time seeing it and it was rainy.

A copperhead ...... omg ...... Mom and I hate snakes !!

We don't care if they are black, gold, silver or what ever, they must die !!

I told her to never go out there again when it's getting dark
and during the day to watch where she is walking.
She agreed with no argument, but I will worry for sure!

Beach Weekend

Our 4 day weekend, camping.

We camped at Willow Tree Rv Resort at Longs
near Myrtle Beach, SC.

It was so hot that most people stayed in the pool
or shopping malls.

On Sunday we went to a dinner show.
The Pirates Voyage owned by Dolly Parton.

I didn't take many pictures, since dinner was
being served during the show.

The show was really nice

Had really great seats on the 2nd row.

Now we're looking forward to our next trip

on Labor Day.

So Hot

It's sooo hot, I hate it.

Give me the fall / winter and i'm a happy camper.

Puddles is not happy as well.
He only goes out to do his business
and runs back to the door.

Wonder how hot August is going to be.
