Fall

I love the fall colors and the cooler weather.
Finally fixed my back and front door wreaths.

Some people have the sweetest ideals.
I need to do something like this outside.

Beach with Mom

We had the best time this week.
The weather was wonderful and not to hot.
Shopped, eat and enjoyed the beach.

Our view was perfect!

The room had 3 queen beds and this worked great for us.
Mom had the single area, so the a/c would not freeze her. Also
we would not disturb her going in and out on the balcony at night.
Life is good !
Mom just loves walking on the beach and did it often.
We met a sweet couple from Kingsport, Tenn. He wanted mom
to get up on their bike, but this is as far as she would go.
Love my time at the beach with Mom and Romonia.
Memories are priceless!

Puddles (long post)

Hope every one is doing well.

We have had such heavy hearts the past 2 week.

Puddles had starting having pee accidents in the house.
We thought he was just drinking to much water and was
unable to hold it during the day.

I took him for his oncologist recheck and he had lost
2.5 lbs. We were to recheck his weight in 2 weeks.
During this time he continued to have accidents in the
house, which was a never for him. I talked to our
normal vet and they wanted a urinalysis to check for
an infection. The results were diabetes.

The normal blood sugar for a dog is 100-114, Puddles was 525.
He weighted 17 lbs and is now down to 14.

We purchased 2 bands to prevent him from messing up the
house and they are working great.

Since we had plans for Labor Day camping with family
we continued on with this and Puddles didn't have an appt until 9/4.

We had a wonderful time and Puddles did great.
He loves having us both with him.

On Thursday we had our education appt with Dr Lucky
and instructions about the insulin. After tears and praying
about it, I was okay with the shots. At first, I was against
it and didn't want to do this to him.

Yesterday Garry took Puddles in for his long day stay.
Blood sugar was checked and given his 1st injection.
He did well and his readings were down to 400.

The only thing that worries me now is, Dr Lucky said
Puddles will most lightly go blind in 6 months to a year.
I said no way would I allow him to continue in this
world being blind. We will make it our decision when
or if that happens.

Garry and I were up at 5am this morning for our 1st
injection and Garry did wonderful. The schedule is
5am and 5pm with only 30 mins lead-way.

This afternoon we will show our friends how to do the
injections incase something happens and they have to
take over caring for Puddles for a few days. Never
know when someone may be in the hospital and we
have to think ahead with our little diabetic fur baby.

Please pray for our little guy.
