Sugery Day 3

I can tell today that the lids are going down.
If you click on the pic, you can see a little
white coming to the surface.

(click on pic for larger view)

Today I start with wet warm compresses.
I still continue with the pills under the
tongue and creams.

The instructions that were given are perfect.
I can open my eyes more this morning !

I would do it all over again.
No pain, just pressure from the swelling.

After my eyes are healed, I'm going to see a
dermatologist regarding my wrinkles!  And
also going to get serious with weight loss.

Surgery Day 2

Last night it was tough sleeping on my back.
I have bruising on my lids and they feel heavy.

(click on pic for larger view)

Dr A called to check on me this morning.

I informed her that only the lids were swollen and
red. She instructed me to apply the Auriderm gel
all over my eyes during the day and the anitobic
cream morning/evening. She was happy
that there were no bruising under my eyes.

Dr A said after one more day I would be
able to see the swelling go down.

There is no pain, only heavy feeling of the lids.
I continue with my home care.

Surgery Day 1

Nervous, but ready to get started.

Prior to leaving home I was instructed to take
1 Valium and once at the office take another one.
This is to relax so the eye lids are relaxed.

Numbing shots were inserted alone the eye lids.
This was the worse part. The rest was only feeling
the pressure.

Dr A talked to me the entire time and didn't feel like
it took an hour. Before I knew it she was finished.
The hard part is over !

(for better view click on pic)

Now I start my home care for the swelling / bruising.

Morning / Evening
4 Arnice Montana tables melted under tongue
Auriderm gel around the eyes
Antibiotic cream on the incision
Every 30 mins
Ice pack on eyes

Must sleep on back with 2 pillows.

Droopy Eye Lids

As most people age their upper eye lids start to
gradually loses its elasticity.

When I put on eye shadow you could not see it.
Mostly would only use eye liner and no mascara.

My mom had the lid lift last year and did wonderful
with great results. so I decided it was my turn.

After my visit to  Metrolina Eye the surgery was scheduled
for 5/27/14 at 10:00. With my age and good health the surgery
will be performed in the office surgery area.

Waxing

We started this morning at 9am.
Since we didn't wax the RV last year we had to do it twice.
Don't think we will skip a year from now on!

I would wax from the bottom up over my head and Garry
waxed from the top down to where I stopped.

I'm sure we save lots of money by doing it, but it's a huge job.

We only have the 2 end caps to finish and a little at the top.

Love a hard working man !

Jayce / Dylan

Jayce (great-nephew) loves being in his daddy's truck.
He and Dylan are 2 peas in a pod.

Dylan will get down to his level and play, even gets a
little to rough sometimes.  This kiddo is all boy!

Jayce is the sweetest little fellow and always happy.
Love it when he says thank you.
Erika (neice) and Dylan work hard trying to raise him
properly and are doing a great job.

Vaccines

Puddles saw his regular vet Friday.
It was time for his rabies booster and check up.

Dr Lucky had called his oncologist Dr that morning
to decided if Puddles was able to take the booster.

He was able to get the booster, but will not be able
to get any other vaccines. This is due to the leukemia
and his immune system.

I question about his kennel cough vaccine since
we go camping and he is groomed. Unfortunately,
he cant have it any more. If Puddles gets the cough
he will be treated with meds.

Dr Lucky checked him good and he's doing great. His
blood work is stable but has to continue the chemo pills.

Cholesterol

Cholesterol, every one has it.
But do you use it on your hair?

My hair is so dry and would not hold color. Yes I have to
color my hair. It lightens up to a ugly blond, so I darken it.

One of my interns at work told me about putting cholesterol
on my hair to bring the shine back and condition it.

After the 1st treatment, I could tell the difference and so did my
co-workers. This works better that any high dollar conditioner
you can buy and I have purchased many different kind.

Shampoo your hair, towel dry. Rub the cream in your palms
and them work into hair. Heat a small wet towel in microwave,
wrap head and cover with a vinyl  shower cap (holds in heat).
After 30 mins rinse hair really good with warm water.

Do this twice a week and once hair is better, then
once a week. Directions on the back of the container.

Purchased mine at Sally's Beauty for $3.29.

Cholesterol Cream

Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.
"as I type this, I'm doing my second treatment"

Happy cholesterol to you !

Cast Iron

Our new grill has cast iron grates.

Garry read on the internet how to season them.
I had already seasoned the infrared part and thought I was finished.

The directions, coat in Crisco Vegetable Shortening. Bake for 2
hours in oven at 300 degrees.  Once cool, do it again.

Now we are ready for a cook out !

I have also planted my Geraniums and a few other flowers.

Love spending time outside with the Spring temps.
